Match: Brad's Bitches (1) vs. Toledo Split Tongues (0)

During the pre-game, Brad's Bitches spent 100k out of their own treasury to buy an extra bribe. The Split Tongues took an inducement-given bloodweiser babe. Brad's Bitches won the coin toss, and elected to received the 1st kickoff, and spent the next 8 turns trying to grind their way into the endzone. They did not make it in before the half ended, which kept the score tied at 0-0. After the 1st half, the Bitches successfully rolled for their purchased bribe, which allowed the Bitches' evil, evil, Death Roller (with block, no less!) to also play in the second half.

At the 2nd half kickoff, the Split Tongues received the ball with decent field position, and made some well-placed blocks to clear a nice Skink-sized hole through the Bitches line--- only one successful dodge roll at a 3 was needed to get the ball carrying Skink through that hole and able to run far enough past the Bitches slow-moving defenders that the Skink could not be reached and would be able to score on the next turn. Of course, a "1" was rolled, followed immediately by a "2". The rest of the half was spent with each team attempting to pick up the ball and failing, or, if able to pick up the ball, immediately getting tackled and coughing it up. Meanwhile, during the ball-wresting shenanigans, the Bitches were having some great armor-breaking and casualty-causing blocks occur, which meant the Split Tongues were beginning to lose the war of attrition. Even so, the 2nd half ended with the score still tied at 0-0.

Because this was a playoff game, an overtime was forced, and the lucky Bitches won the coin toss to receive the overtime kickoff. Even with the removal of the Bitches' evil, evil, Death Roller at the start of overtime, the Bitches could still field 10 players, but because of the brutal Bitches'-dominated battling of the second half, the Split Tongues could only manage to field 7 players. Surprisingly, even with their numerical disadvantage, the Split Tongues were able to get a few tackles onto the Bitches' ball carrier, but alas, it was to no avail, as none of the blocks on the Bitches ballcarrier were successful. It took them 6 turns of the maximum allowed 8 turns of overtime play, but the Bitches slowly ground their way into the end zone for the 1-0 overtime win.

Well done, Brad.

Team news by London Silly Nannies

Breaking news from Penzance Stadium! After entering the field to a smashing rendition of The Sorcerer, the London Silly Nannies dodged and dived their way around the stealthy knives of the Organization of Misplaced Daggers. In an epic overtime victory, the Silly Nannies managed to survive the onslaught of the OMD due to a misplaced rock on the field causes their star player to trip. This allowed Lord Pensington Farnsworth II to score his second touchdown of the game, and cementing his place in Blood Bowl stardom. Recently rewarded with the Legendary Tea Doily of Bel Shanaar by the Phoenix King Finubar the Seafarer, Lord Farnsworth was sadly unavailable for comment. The Sill Nannies' next game is with the perfidious Orc of BOats 'n Hoes.

Match: Organization of Misplaced Daggers (5) vs. Blackwater Bashers (1)

OMD has had a rough season. They have been badly beaten up, and frankly, have not performed up to fans' expectations. Rumor was circulating that the Naggaroth Assassins Guild moved their quarterly meeting from Chicago to Toledo, and the dark elves of OMD saw that as too much of a coincidence. Apparently "inspired" by the not-so-subtle rumors, they played the last game of the regular season with renewed vigor. The very first turn of the game saw emerging star player Horkon Razzor sending the minotaur Debauchery to the morgue. The Blackwater Bashers played a tight first half, but in the second half they found themselves plagued by a bad case of cantpickupthedamnball, and the rout was on.

Announcement by Tim Farnham: Playoffs

The Playoffs will begin on November 23, 2009. Those of you who have not completed your games please hurry; this gives you two weeks to get in your missing games. Those of you concerned, do not worry I know who is holding up the divisions and can deal with them and the rest of your games. Please stick to the schedule and you will prevail. The playoffs will be similar to a regular season except lose a game and your out. :) Keep in mind we will be saving teams for a second season, you can opt out of the playoffs or drop your team for a new one next season, this will give you a large inducement pool. I do not think a new team should be as good as a seasoned team but they should at least stand a chance. I have decided to use the special play cards in the rule book this will help make inducements a little more viable but not overpowering as seasoned teams can buy them with petty cash. Remember that petty cash increases your team value so the difference will change between the teams.

Match: Salamanders (0) vs. Russ' lineman (3)

The norsemen played a good game, the saurus did there job but considering the rain the skinks skin was extremely slippery there for made alot of incomplete passes and failed to pick up the ball, the norsemen's blitzers used there speed to trip the saurus up all game, the runners did there job with lightning fast agility, of 3 lol, scored touchdowns left and right. The Norsemen near the end of the game were tired and sore, the lizard men were questioning the slanns about the will of the old ones about the point of this game during the rain. But the end of the game ended with the norsemen on the winning side, the Lizardmen found the it was not the will of the old ones to win. Good Game.

Announcement by Tim Farnham: Can you decide to add Skill Bonuses before the Die Roll?

The question was posed to me the other day if Dirty Player or mighty blow could decide when to add the plus one to the die roll or if you had to declare before hand, since the skills themselves do not mention it. If you look on page 23 of the blood bowl handbook it gives a description of how skills work. A player may roll the dice first then decide when to add the bonus.

Boats 'n Hoes just keeps on rolling. The dark elves of OMD tried their best to be a speed bump on the orks' path to the championship, but 47 rolls of 1 and 7 of 9 failed rerolls will really mess up a gameplan.... Hopefully Coach Sparks' Saim Even More Heinous will have better luck against Ethan's battleship.

Announcement by Tim Farnham: BONUS!!

It has been brought to my attention that there has been allot of proxies and unpainted miniatures in the league. I have been fine with that up until now; we are almost done with the regular season and about to start playoffs. Here is what I am going to do. When the Playoffs start we are going to give everyone with Games Workshop Blood Bowl models that properly represent there team 10K. Everyone with the above mentioned models that are painted will receive +1 Fan Factor in addition to the 10K. Those that have not painted their team will lose one Fan Factor, Those that do not have proper Blood Bowl miniatures will no longer gain Fan Factor and cannot add Fan Factor to the roll when determining how many fans Show. "The Fans need real Teams!!"

Match: Salamanders (2) vs. Organization of Misplaced Daggers (2)

The newcomer Salamanders made an impressive showing in their first game. OMD's morgue is now more crowded than their bench.... Down 2-0, and suffering 3 deaths and a badly hurt player in the first half led to a coaching tirade in the locker room at halftime. While the dark elves were being threatened with torture, an assasin trainee decided to take matters into his own hands and snuck into the lizard locker room to adjust the thermostat down to a chilly 45 degrees. It was a cagey move that worked, as the lizards came out sluggish and slow. The 5 remaining dark elves managed to tie the game at 2-2. The last play of the game had the amazing skinks moving the ball from deep in their own half of the field, needing only a completion to win the game with a reroll still available. Dan'O stared at the strange looking 1's on both dice, not really understanding what he was looking at since he hadn't seen one all game..... It was a crazy game of Blood Bowl, and while the lizards can be satisfied with the mass star player points earned in their first game, they have to go back to lustria wondering how only 5 of the hated dark elves, badly bruised and battered, managed to deny them the victory. ;)

Del showed up ready for some hot elf-on-elf action. Unfortunately the Blood Bowl gods were fickle and I'm not sure anything went his way the whole second half! The first half was hard fought, the second half was basicly the Dark Elves showing the Wood Elves who the kings of the pitch were on this Friday afternoon. The twenty three thousand fans who packed the stadium were definatly into the game, rioting twice in the second half!

Please read the section on inducements as team values differ and some teams have Gold to spare. An extra Bloodwieser Babe or a wandering chef may make a huge difference during the game. A wandering apothocary may save your star player from a bone crushing death at the hands of the other team.
